Kingcrow - New Album
The radiant opening track to the nearly hour-long In Crescendo (2012) 'Right Before' wastes no time in letting you know exactly what the members of Kingcrow are about with this newest creation. Immerse yourself in the anthem now via PureGrainAudio in THIS LINK!
Having evolved from a mostly progressive metal direction, Kingcrow has increasingly expanded the scope of their sound to encompass elements of rock over recent years, nowadays culminating strong atmospheric components similar to Riverside, Porcupine Tree and Pink Floyd but also bearing a heavier, metallic semblance to Opeth and Dream Theater. In Crescendo was produced by the band’s own Diego and Thundra Cafolla at Sound Under Pressure in Rome, the massive album was then mixed by Giampiero Ulacco and mastered by Alan Douches at West West Side Music.

Neal Morse - New Live Album
When progressive rock icon Neal Morse was preparing to tour his highly acclaimed 2012 studio release, Momentum (2012), he turned to YouTube to audition touring players to support his faithful duo of Mike Portnoy (drums) and Randy George (bass).
He had high hopes, but the final players selected from more than 70 applicants dramatically surpassed his expectations. They hit the road for an 8-stop North American tour. And now that band's epic New York performance is captured on the new Live Momentum (2013) 2DVD/3CD Box Set.
Fortified by the energetic live contributions of Eric Gillette (keyboards, guitars, vocals), Bill Hubauer (key-boards, violin, sax, vocals) and Adson Sodré (guitar and vocals), Morse, Portnoy and George blazed through two lengthy sets that spanned Morse's entire, highly-heralded catalog, with the exception of material from Testimony 2 (2011), which was previously captured in 2011's Testimony 2: Live In Los Angeles (2011) box set.
Live Momentum |
The setlist is mammoth. The players are virtuosic. Their performances are jaw-dropping. And this dynamic box set documents it all-including a special one-hour behind the scenes look at the tour.
It's a Morse tradition to go big, and this new release unquestionably extends his powerful legacy of merging musical madness with addictive melodies in epic compositions that showcase the masterful musicianship of every member on stage.
Live Momentum (2013) reveals the exceptionally inspired nature of this unique band and leaves listeners and viewers mimicking those in the audience on this tour-shaking their heads and wondering, "How could they possibly top that?"
This ENORMOUS 2 DVD / 3CD set includes over 4 hours of video, including and exclusive Tour Documentary and over 3 hours of audio.
Below a trailer of what's coming:
The Pre Sales begin on February 1st on Radiant Records site, RIGHT HERE.

Jorn - New Album
Jorn goes "Symphonic" offering his fans a new retrospective on his career. Frontiers Records announced the release of a very special album from Jorn entitled Symphonic (2013) on January 25th in Europe and January 22nd in North America.
Symphonic (2013) is not a proper new album, but rather a selection of tracks taken from Jorn’s previous studio releases, which have been carefully selected by the Norwegian singer himself and painstakingly remixed in order to add a grandiose classical orchestra arrangement to the existing Hard Rock structure.
“I didn't want to choose the most obvious Jorn songs, as I didn't want this album to come out as a typical "best of" release”, explains the Norwegian singer. “Some songs that are not too typical in a Jorn context, were chosen simply because some great songs often tend to be forgotten and therefore deserve a second chance”.
Tracks like “I Came to Rock”, “Burn Your Flame” and “Behind the Clown” especially are presented in a very intriguing and different new dressing, which enhances the variety and depth of Jorn’s classic songwriting and performance style. In Jorn’s words: “I Came To Rock, might now even remind the listener of a Broadway musical, not coming from a heavy rock band like Jorn. The new version of "Behind The Clown" shows how much as a young boy I have been fascinated by Kate Bush. “Burn your flame” instead came out really fresh and different, compared to the original version on Spirit Black from 2009.”
Symphonic (2013) also includes an unreleased track: a cover version of Dio’s “Rock n Roll Children”. “I hope you will enjoy the album and maybe you will even rediscover some songs you had forgotten…” concludes Jorn.
Symphonic (2013) tracklisting includes:
I Came To Rock; Rock And Roll Children; The World I See; Burn Your Flame; Man Of The Dark; My Road; Time To Be King; Black Morning; Like Stone In Water; Vision Eyes; War Of The World; Behind The Clown; A Thousand Cuts; The Mob Rules.
The first single off the album “I Came to Rock” can be exclusively listened in streaming on the Frontiers Records webradio. Tune in at www.frontiers.it/webradio.

It Bites - Tour Dates
It Bites had an immensely successful 2012, a year that included the release of their critically acclaimed album Map Of The Past (2012) two brilliantly received UK tours and a fantastic sold-out London show at the Scala as well as Radio 2 play from the likes of Dermot O'Leary and Alex Lester.
Never ones to rest on their laurels though, the band have just revealed they will be main support to FM on their upcoming UK tour in March, the dates of which you can find below. Founding member Bob Dalton had this to say about the tour:
"It's great to have been asked to do these shows with FM. I don't think we've shared a stage together since Reading Festival back in the 80's. This opportunity was just too good to pass up. These shows are a great bill and great value for money for any UK fan of rock music."
FM + IT BITES + VEGA
Mar 20 Newcastle O2 Academy2
Mar 21 Manchester Academy 2
Mar 22 Nuneaton Queens Hall
Mar 23 London O2 Shepherds Bush Empire
You can check out the video for latest single 'Cartoon Graveyard' below:
Officially launched in 1984, UK-based It Bites are still a relevant and thought-provoking entity in 2012. Hailed as everything from prog to pop to art rock over the course of their career - which was temporarily halted by a 16 year break between 1990 and 2006 - the band continues to boast a diversity that has even their most devout fans guessing from album to album. Their latest outing, Map Of The Past (2012), keeps this tradition alive and kicking.

Jolly - New Album
In March 2011, Jolly released The Audio Guide To Happiness (Part 1) (2011), the first of a two-part series that is scientifically designed to bring a listener to a state of true happiness. The band collaborated with a professor and some graduate students at a nearby university, who conducted studies on over 5,000 subjects to perfect the usage of binaural tones to optimize the Jolly listening experience.
In October 2012, Hurricane Sandy struck Jolly hard, destroying drummer/producer Louis Abramson's home, which also functioned as the band's practice space and recording studio. All of Louis' possessions and a lot of the band's equipment were ruined. The members of Jolly were devastated, but they tried to remain positive. The timing couldn't have been worse; the band was in the midst of finalizing The Audio Guide To Happiness (Part 2) (2013), but had to break away from the album to throw out Louis' belongings and completely gut his home. In need of new equipment, Jolly started a fundraising campaign, and their incredible fans came through in a big way to help the band rebuild after this major disaster.
Precisely 2 years after the release of part 1, The Audio Guide To Happiness (Part 2) (2013) is now here, set for release in March 2013. Beyond the music, it is a standing symbol of Jolly's recovery from the storm. Those who were left hanging from Audio Guide 1 can finally complete their journey towards happiness. Don't be surprised if crime rates plunge in 2013.
The band comments: "We couldn't be more excited to finally share The Audio Guide To Happiness (Part 2) (2013) with the world. After the devastation we experienced with Hurricane Sandy, we have been in a rebuilding phase, and the release of this album stands as a major milestone in our recovery. Musically, we set out to make Audio Guide 2 our richest sounding record, offering solid hooks, interesting arrangements, and sonic textures that cover a wide range of styles. We're extremely proud of what we created."
Even without considering the binaural brainwave technology embedded throughout, this album offers the listener an experience they have never felt before. Jolly pushes the limits of "accessibility" in The Audio Guide To Happiness (Part 2) (2013) with its powerful riffs, infectious hooks, and undeniable grooves, all within the context of their signature Jolly atmosphere. Your first listen will leave you thinking, and your second will leave you a fan for life.
