Not really the reunion fans were expecting for years but it's oficial Genesis - together with Peter Gabriel - and the BBC have been working together over the last few months on a documentary called Genesis: Together And Apart.

According to a post Tony Banks did yesterday on his Facebook page the project will be a feature length documentary on the bands history. From its first beginnings as a band of songwriters in the late 1960s to its final incarnation as a rock giant in the 1990s – via the full-blown theatrical Progressive Rock in the mid-1970s and the subtler Jazzy Pop of the early 1980s.

Made with the full co-operation of Genesis, the film reunites all original members of the band together – Tony Banks (keyboards), Phil Collins (drums and vocals), Peter Gabriel (vocals), Steve Hackett (guitars), Mike Rutherford (bass) – for the first time since 1975.

Still according to the press release: "The film recounts an extraordinary musical story, exploring the band’s songwriting as well as emotional highs and lows, alongside previously unseen archive material and rare performance footage across their entire career."

The transmission date is to be confirmed yet.

Although the topic was discussed on and on through the years no reunion concerts were confirmed, and with Phill Collins inability of playing the drums nowadays a reunion would be quite a hard thing to be done.
