In March there were several rumours that the former Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour would go back to perform in the preserved ancient Roman town of Pompeii, 45 years after Pink Floyd made a film there.
You can read everything HERE.
Well, the rumours were confirmed a few days ago.
Now David Gilmour Live at Pompeii tickets are available for two historic concerts as David Gilmour returns to Pompeii for the first time in 45 years.
Both concerts will contain a set list with a few notable songs added from the original movie and will be filmed by a camera crew for a theatre screening and future DVD release.
The Amphitheatre of Pompeii is the oldest surviving Roman amphitheatre. It is located in the ancient Roman city of Pompeii, and was buried by the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD, that also buried Pompeii itself and the neighboring town of Herculaneum. Built around 80 BC, the current amphitheatre is the earliest Roman amphitheatre known to have been built of stone.
The amphitheatre's design is seen by some modern crowd control specialists as near optimal. Its washroom, located in the neighboring palaestra has also been cited as an inspiration for better bathroom design in modern stadiums.
Dates:
The Pompeii Amphitheatre: Via Plinio, Pompei, Italy
July 7, 2016
July 8, 2016
The prices for the first day start at 749,00 € and for the second day 850,00 €. More information about the tickets RIGHT HERE.
