Pink Floyd are offering another prelude to their upcoming The Early Years: 1965-1972 box with a video for the set's remixed version of 'Childhood’s End'.
The black and white clip, uses remixed audio of the Obscured by Clouds track, created this year by Andy Jackson and Damon Iddins from the original master tapes. Using vintage studio video of the band edited into images of protesters, the video offers another pre-release look at the massive 27-disc box, which collects nearly 12 hours of audio and 14 hours of video, including more than 20 unreleased songs, over seven hours of previously unreleased live audio and more than five hours of rare concert footage. (Read more about it HERE).
'Childhood's End' follows a new official video for the Ummagumma track 'Grantchester Meadows', which debuted in August and unearthed footage originally filmed for the BBC in 1969.
For fans eager to get a look at the inside of The Early Years itself, there's also an unboxing video, which was posted last month and offers a sneak peek at the physical contents of the comprehensive set. The box, due in stores Nov. 11, is available to pre-order now.
The Early Years 1965-1972 is just one among a number of Pink Floyd reissues in the pipeline this year — the group’s catalog has also been given the vinyl treatment through an ongoing series of LPs, most recently expanded to include August’s reissues of The Wall and The Division Bell and September's Atom Heart Mother, Meddle and Obscured by Clouds.
